BACKGROUND:

The Board of County Commissioners approved interlocal agreements to provide FY2016/2017 CDBG Capital funds in the amount of $203,857 on March 7, 2017, FY2017/2018 CDBG Capital funds in the amount of $205,244 on February 6, 2018, FY2018/2019 Capital funds in the amount of $229,920 on December 18, 2018 and FY2019/2020 in the amount of $230,997 on December 3, 2019.

As a member of the County CDBG Consortium, the City of Mesquite receives an annual allocation for activities that serve the Five-Year Capital Improvement Plan for Fiscal Years 2015-2019 CDBG funds. As a subrecipient, the City of Mesquite uses its portion of the County’s CDBG entitlement allocation for the provision of capital projects to benefit low- and moderate-income residents.  It is being requested that the interlocal agreements for Fiscal Years 2016/2017, 2017/2018, 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 CDBG Capital funds be amended to revise and shift funds from Mesquite Recreation Park Improvements at Desert Rose Park, Jensen Park and Pickleball Court Complex to the Woodbury Skate Park project.
