BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Community Housing Administrator requests that the Board of County Commissioners ratify the submission of the grant application to the State of Nevada's Home Means Nevada Initiative (HMNI) for the Mixed-Use and Microbusiness project (the Project).  Development of the Project would also include up to $15,000,000 in Human Services and Education Sales Tax funds.  This request would also authorize the County Manager or her designee to sign the grant documents and accept any grant funds awarded.

These funds will be used to develop 60 units of low income and workforce housing in concert with the development of a microbusiness center which will provide economic development support, and business incubator and retail space, to small local businesses.  The project will be built on land already purchased by the County.
