BACKGROUND:

Clark County entered into an agreement with the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) for the design, construction, and right-of-way acquisition for the Maryland Parkway Bus Rapid Transit project.  Pursuant to the agreement, RTC is responsible for the appraisal and acquisition of the necessary rights-of-way for the project.  The rights-of-way acquired will be owned by Clark County.  Therefore, the Board of County Commissioners needs to appoint the appraiser to set the value of the properties to be acquired.  There are approximately 77 acquisitions of permanent easements and rights-of-way required for the Maryland BRT project.
