BACKGROUND:

At the August 2, 2022, Board of County Commissioners’ meeting, the Board approved funding for various recipients to conduct conservation programs and public access improvements, as well as enhancing search and rescue efforts in the Mt. Charleston area for Fiscal Year 2022/2023. Nevada Highway Patrol was among those awarded funding ($6,224.00) for the acquisition of public safety equipment. Current supply chain issues have impacted NHP's ability to obtain the desired equipment and other sources had to be identified.  After researching available options, the result was an additional cost of $1,666.00.  The increase in the amount was discussed at the Mt. Charleston Town Advisory Board meeting held on September 1, 2022 and the Board Members expressed support for the change.

There are sufficient funds in this account to cover the additional expense required to complete the purchase.

The District Attorney's Office has approved the amendment as to form.
