BACKGROUND:

On December 18, 2019, the City of Las Vegas (CLV) and Clark County (County) entered an Interlocal Agreement (Agreement) whereby the County provided CLV with Three Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($3,500,000) for the design and construction of the Westside Legacy Park project (Project).  Per the Agreement, the Project was completed on time however during the closeout phase it was determined there were excess funds as follows:

Clark County funding remaining - $171,164.61
City of Las Vegas funding remaining - $30,652.70
Total funding remaining - $201,817.31

During initial planning, a shade structure over the playground was contemplated but not pursued due to limited funding based on the cost estimates at the time.  Once closeout occurred the excess funding was discovered. The CLV estimate is $125,000 to design and construct the shade structure.  City of Las Vegas has requested the use of the excess funds to construct the shade structure over the playground and to extend the Interlocal Agreement to December 31, 2023.

This item was presented to the County's Long Range Planning committee on August 10, 2022.
