BACKGROUND:

On July 2, 2019, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 605322-19 to Help of Southern Nevada (NBE) in the amount not to exceed $12,870,436.25 to provide chronically homeless individuals with stable housing placement in coordination with case management and supportive services. The services include intensive case management, scattered site rental assistance and supportive services such as assistance with mental health treatment, substance abuse treatment, medical needs, legal issues, financial support and goal planning towards reaching self-sufficiency.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
The term of the Contract was from July 19, 2019 through June 30, 2020 and included the option to renew                      for 4, one-year periods. There is 1 renewal option remaining.
Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract                      with advanced written notice.

Approval of Amendment No. 1 will provide for an increase of funding as Department of Social Service received an additional grant funds from HUD for the continuation of a part-time position and to sustain the increase of Fair Market Rents (FMR). The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.

Help of Southern Nevada currently holds a Clark County Business License.
