BACKGROUND:
On December 21, 2021, the Board of County Commissioners approved a pre-qualification list to be used to select professional services providers for the period of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2023. Taney Engineering, Inc. (S-Corp) was selected from the pre-qualification list category, [Service] Surveying Construction Staking - Minor, to provide construction land surveying services on the Harmon Avenue between Pecos Road and Boulder Highway project (Bid No. 606193-22).
County staff negotiated the attached professional surveying services contract with Taney Engineering, Inc. The contract describes the services to be provided and stipulated terms. The time of performance is effective to May 3, 2024, unless time extensions are granted. The project includes reconstruction and rehabilitation of pavement and pavement widening, installation and repair concrete curb, gutter, sidewalk, valley gutters, and Americans with Disabilities Act compliant sidewalk ramps, storm drains facilities, Intelligent Transportation Systems conduit with fiber and pull boxes, traffic signal and school flasher modifications, loop detectors, installation and modification of street lighting, utility modifications and relocations, signage, bicycle lanes, pavement markings, and related appurtenances necessary to make a good, complete, and serviceable project.
Taney Engineering, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statute 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding and, therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.
The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed and approved the contract as to form.
