Setting daily bed rate for the CCDC per NRS 213.15103

BACKGROUND:

Parolees incarcerated at the CCDC due to a violation of their parole or the termination of their residential confinement pursuant to NRS 213.15198 must be taken into custody by the State of Nevada’s Parole & Probation (P&P) Division if there are no other criminal charges pending or warrants outstanding for the parolee.

Per NRS 213.15103, P&P shall take custody of the parolee within five (5) working days after the inquiry held pursuant to NRS 213.1511 has been conducted or five (5) working days after receiving notice from the Sheriff if the parolee was paroled by another state and is under supervision in Nevada pursuant to NRS 213.215.

If P&P fails to take custody of a parolee within the aforementioned time frame, P&P shall reimburse the County for the cost of housing the parolee for each day they’re incarcerated at CCDC at a daily rate determined by the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) per NRS 213.15103.

The official daily bed rate at CCDC is currently $240.  Due to increases in the Detention Services Division's operating expenditures, it is recommended that the BCC authorize a $245 rate pursuant to NRS 213.15103 to formally enable the County to invoice P&P for any eligible reimbursable costs.
