BACKGROUND:

Following the onset of COVID-19 and the receipt of federal grant funds, the County engaged the community to determine the impacts of the pandemic as well as the immediate and long-term recovery needs.   The engagement process included community meetings, a grant application site, and interviews with a variety of community stakeholders and local government representatives.  It has been determined that the long-term recovery investments needed in the community will require additional time to implement and complete beyond the County's federal funding awards and that these projects should be funded with non-federal sources.

Clark County identified applications for programs and services that would be best suited to receive funding.  Clark County staff identified 308 applications requesting over $1.6 billion in funding for a variety of projects. Upon review, staff recommends approval of seven applications totaling $6,859,741 in funding. These programs or services supplement services provided directly by the County or are funded in lieu of the need for the County to establish such programs.

Approval of these subawards will support water services, early education, access to healthcare and job training opportunities to underserved areas of Clark County.

Pursuant to NRS 244.1505, the County Manager or her designee will execute the required grant resolutions to the non-profit applicants.
