BACKGROUND:
On August 19, 2014, the Board of County Commissioners approved a professional engineering services contract with The Louis Berger Group, Inc. WSP, Inc. to determine a preliminary alignment for the Carey Avenue between Nellis Boulevard and Toiyabe Street project. Effective January 1, 2020, the merger of Louis Berger US, Inc./The Louis Berger Group, Inc. ("Louis Berger") and WSP USA, Inc. was completed, and Louis Berger personnel became WSP employees.
The Board previously approved four supplemental contracts with WSP USA Solutions Inc. for the subject project to conduct an Environmental Assessment needed for acquiring federal lands owned by the Nellis Air Force Base (NAFB), additional final design engineering services and updated time of performance, a contract time extensions, and additional engineering services to support more project management and related appurtenances, respectively.
The attached Supplemental No. 5 to the professional engineering services contract increases total funds for additional engineering services and extends the time of performance to December 31, 2025, unless further time extensions are granted. Additional services include utility design and developer coordination and changes, right-of-way exhibits and coordination, contract documents updates; providing an Environmental Baseline Survey (EBS) for the eastern half of Betty Lane from Carey Avenue to approximately a quarter mile north of Carey Avenue, adjacent to the City of North Las Vegas Reclamation Facility, located on Assessor’s Parcel No. 140-16-401-007. The EBS supports NAFB’s granting an easement to the County for this quarter-mile eastern half of Betty Lane.
WSP USA Solutions Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the fifth supplemental contract as to form.
