BACKGROUND:

The BLM Southern Nevada Fire and Aviation Program is donating a 2016 Polaris Ranger 6x6 utility terrain vehicle with firefighting package to the Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District through the BLM RFR.  The RFR donation is intended to provide a streamlined process for the BLM to transfer firefighting equipment, which has been replaced, to local cooperators in strategic areas that benefit Mt. Charleston and BLM's wildland fire mission.  The approximate value of the fire apparatus is $12,000.  The Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District responds to and assists in suppressing wildfires on the Southern Nevada BLM district, and this equipment being added to their response capabilities in and around Mt. Charleston and adjacent areas.
