The Designation of Clark County as the Applicant/Fiscal Agent, Pursuant to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program County FY2021 Federal FY2020 Award (2020-DJ-BX-0483).

BACKGROUND: 

This Agreement is for the designation of Clark County (County) as the applicant/fiscal agent, pursuant to the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program County FY2021 Federal FY2020 Award.

U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) annually provide funds to County and City of Las Vegas (City) under the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant
(JAG) Formula Program to support local initiatives addressing crime through the provision of services directly to individuals and/or communities and by improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the criminal justice systems. process and procedures.

The Bureau of Justice has designated County and City as Disparate Jurisdictions, thereby requiring County and City to identify one entity to act as applicant and fiscal agent that will submit an application on behalf of both parties. To improve the planning process, both parties have agreed to designate County as the applicant/fiscal agent for the FY2020 (2020-DJ-BX-0483) JAG Grant.
                     
The following are the pertinent provisions of the Agreement:
                     The term of the Agreement is from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2023.

The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 277.180. The parties are authorized to enter into interlocal contracts to perform governmental functions and activities.
