309 S. Third Street Air Handling Unit Replacement

Additional Comments:

The initial Contract amount was $2,032,883.05, Change Order No. 1 - 4 increased the Contract amount by $174,097.13. Change Order No. 5 will increase the Contract amount by $56,196.89, for a new total Contract amount of $2,263,177.07.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On July 30, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of Bid No. 605616-20 for 309 S. Third Street Air Handling Unit Replacement to NDL Group, Inc. (NBE) in the amount of $2,032,883.05 for the replacement of air handler and fan coil units at floor 1, removal of air handler units at floors 2, 3 and 4 and replaced the rooftop air handler unit at 309 S. Third Street

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
                     The Contractor shall complete the entire work within 180 calendar days from the date specified after the                      receipt of the Notice to Proceed. 
                     Included the standard termination for cause within 7 business days and termination for convenience                      language as in all public works efforts of this type.

Change Order No. 1 provided for labor and material to demolish built-up roofing, form and pour concrete support ribbon footing on roof deck, added steel reinforcing that was not in the bid drawings, installed new valves without shutting down mechanical plant, removed and reinstalled existing door frames, and rerouted gas piping on roof.

Change Order No. 2 provided for labor and materials to connect 4 new smoke detectors to electrical conduit, relocated existing electrical switches, and extended the Contract by 90 calendar days.

Change Order No. 3 provided for labor and materials to upgrade existing fire alarm system to interact with air handler unit project and extended the Contract by 148 calendar days.

Change Order No. 4 provided for labor and materials for the connection of 4 electrical sections that were not included in the bid documents and extended the Contract by 293 calendar days.

Approval of Change Order No. 5 will provide for labor and materials for additional mechanical piping, changes made to the scope of work and extend the Contract by 167 calendar days.  The attached Change Order No. 5 document details the modifications and costs involved.

NDL Group, Inc. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
