BACKGROUND:
On September 9, 2021, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and Clark County, City of Las Vegas, City of North Las Vegas, City of Henderson, City of Boulder City, and City of Mesquite (collectively "Entities") entered into Interlocal Contract No. 1321 for the RTC - Traffic Signal Maintenance project (Clark County Public Works Project No. PW.R262EFT) in the amount of $400,000. RTC, in coordination with the Entities intends to repair, replace and maintain traffic signal detection at various locations throughout Clark County. The Board of County Commissioners approved this contract on October 5, 2021.
Currently, RTC's Freeway and Arterial System of Transportation (FAST) department is in contract with Las Vegas Electric (LVE), authorizing LVE to respond to emergency calls. Interlocal Contract No. 1321 identified RTC as the lead agency and responsible party for all costs associated with the subject project and approved Contract 19-047 entered between LVE and FAST of RTC that authorized LVE to make temporary and/or permanent repairs for the Entities. Supplemental No. 1 increased total funds and extended the contract term, and Supplemental No. 2 reallocated funds to construction, rather than engineering.
The attached Supplemental No. 3 to Interlocal Contract No. 1321 will provide additional funds for contractor services. The time of performance remains effective to December 31, 2027, unless time extensions are granted.
RTC approved the third supplemental contract at its meeting on April 13, 2023. Each of the Entities is scheduled to approve the third supplemental contract at their respective Board/Council meetings.
The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the third supplemental contract as to form.
