BACKGROUND: 

The Plaintiff commenced an action against the Department of Family Services alleging temporary guardianship of his minor children was improperly given to a relative.  In an attempt to resolve this matter, the District Attorney's Office seeks approval to serve the Plaintiff with an offer of judgment in the amount of One Hundred Thousand Dollars ($100,000) inclusive of all attorney's fees and costs, accrued interest and any other sums.  Should the Plaintiff accept the offer of judgment, Clark County will be dismissed from the action by way of a settlement agreement in accordance with the terms of the offer of judgment. 

The proposal to serve an offer of judgment has been reviewed and approved by the Civil Division of the District Attorney’s Office and the Clark County Liability Pool Committee members.
