Conduct a public hearing and approve, adopt, and authorize the Chair to sign an ordinance to amend Title 7 of the Clark County Code by adding a new Chapter designated as Chapter 7.200 - Sidewalk Vendors to establish regulations pertaining to the licensing and operations of sidewalk vendor businesses; including definition of terms, establishing findings, applicability, license application requirements, fees, operational requirements, prohibited acts, limitations on hours and locations of operation, penalties, and enforcement; and to amend Title 18 by deleting Chapter 18.03 to prevent redundancy; and providing for other matters properly related thereto. BACKGROUND:
On August 15, 2023, the Board directed staff to prepare an ordinance to the Clark County Code to provide for the licensing and operations of sidewalk vendors. The proposed ordinance adds definition of terms, establishes findings, applicability, license application requirements, fees, operational requirements, prohibited acts, limitations on hours and locations of operation, penalties, and enforcement.
This proposed ordinance was introduced at the April 2, 2024, Board of County Commissioners' meeting, and a public hearing was scheduled for April 16, 2024. Staff recommends approval of the ordinance to amend Title 7 by adding a new Chapter 7.200 and Title 18 by deleting Chapter 18.03 of the County Code.
