BACKGROUND:

MCI Communications LLC was granted a ten-year rights-of-way license by the Board on March 3, 2009, that was extended by the Board for an additional five years, until March 3, 2024, pursuant to Section 5.01.070 of the County Code.

Licensee has applied for a new rights-of-way license to allow the Licensee to continue to install, operate and maintain underground facilities within the rights-of-way in unincorporated Clark County for the purpose of providing non-subscription telecommunication services.

In order to provide adequate time for final discussions, staff is recommending that the current agreement be extended for an additional six months or until a new rights-of-way license agreement is approved by the Board, whichever is sooner.
