BACKGROUND:

In February of 2024, the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) approved the purchase of a one-story, 17,178 square foot medical office/behavioral health facility located at 5409 East Lake Mead Las Vegas, NV 89156.  This property was specifically constructed as a behavioral health center which adheres to strict licensing requirements for those experiencing a mental health crisis, as required by statute.  The building has never been used and will require some tenant improvements to fit the community's needs.  This facility is in an underserved area with little to no behavioral health services in proximity.  The facility will provide 28 beds and will be managed by UMC.

Clark County Social Service is applying to the State of Nevada for an American Rescue Plan Act grant in the amount of $11,312,186.00 for the acquisition of the building and related construction costs.
