BACKGROUND:

To provide a comprehensive review of Outside Agency Grant (OAG) requests, Community Resources Management initiates a grant application and internal review process each year. This year nonprofit agencies and local governments within the County completed an application for funding detailing information related to proposed projects, budgets, and information concerning their nonprofit status and agency management.

Clark County received 217 applications requesting over $14.6 million in funding. Of those, Clark County received 145 Community Initiative applications requesting over $9.5 million in funding. Attached is the final list of 73 recommended projects for $1,500,000 for Board consideration.

Following the adoption of this list, the agencies recommended for OAG funding will be notified and required to submit supporting documentation before proceeding forward. County staff will then prepare the required grant resolution agreements per Nevada Revised Statutes 244.1505. These grant resolutions will then be sent to the County Manager or his designee for approval in advance of the implementation of the approved projects.

Approval of these grants will assist with the operation of social, recreational, educational, and cultural programs benefiting seniors, youth, veterans, the low income, as well as our rural and urban residents.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved this item as to form.
