BACKGROUND:

On August 15, 1989, the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, approved the establishment of a change bank in the amount of $200.00 for the Department of Comprehensive Planning. The purpose of this change bank was to allow the Department to make change for cash paying customers.

On July 6, 2004, the Board of County Commissioners of Clark County, Nevada, approved a $50 increase in the amount held in the change bank for a total of $250.

On August 17, 2021, the number of customer transactions involving cash diminished over the years, the Department no longer felt that it needed to maintain the $250 balance in the change bank and would request the reduction to $150.

The purpose for which the revolving bank account was established is no longer necessary as the department provides debit cards and online payment options. For this reason, the Board is asked to dissolve the revolving bank account.

Appropriate adjustments will be made to the general ledger for the returned funds.
