BACKGROUND:
On February 21, 2023, the Board entered into an Interlocal Agreement authorizing $4,050,000 of Clark County Recovery Funds to Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) for the expansion of the Southern Nevada Public Health Laboratory (PHL Expansion). The PHL Expansion Program will enable the SNHD to expand its ability to provide public health laboratory services to the residents and visitors of southern Nevada, provide sentinel surveillance and monitoring for disease outbreaks, provide education to clinical and hospital laboratories, assist in conducting molecular epidemiology, and provide adequate storage space for reagents, supplies, and standby equipment necessary to run new molecular testing programs.
The First Amendment will extend the expenditure of the funds until December 31, 2026.
Staff recommends approval of the first amendment to interlocal agreement between Clark County and Southern Nevada Health District.
