BACKGROUND:

The issue of OUD is prevalent within the criminal justice system.  Clark County is committed to providing tools, resources, and programs in collaboration with community partners to improve long-term outcomes for those facing OUD, including a reduction in the recidivism rate and the associated financial strain on local government resources.  Clark County’s MAT program provides comprehensive, wraparound services to address the entirety of the OUD epidemic through medication, counseling, and behavioral therapy to effectively facilitate safe withdrawal from opioids and the ability to stabilize individuals prior to their release back into the community.  These monies will allow for the expansion of the existing program at CCDC to better meet the incoming patient needs and community demands.

This SAMHSA grant allocation stems from the federal Consolidated Appropriation Act, 2024 solicitation with the Notice of Award granted on September 13, 2024.
