BACKGROUND:
To ensure that District personnel have clean and appropriate uniforms for each job classification as provided in the operative collective bargaining agreement, the District requires annual rental services for employee uniforms, including but not limited to, high visibility garments, flame-resistant workwear, mats, and other related products. This contract will support and protect personnel in carrying out their tasks while adhering to health and safety guidelines by ensuring that employee uniforms are cleaned/laundered, maintained, repaired and/or replaced, and regularly picked up and delivered to the District's designated facilities.
On June 1, 2023, the University of Nebraska, as the lead agency in conjunction with OMNIA Partners, awarded Contract No. 001299 to Cintas Corporation No. 2 for Workplace Solutions, which includes uniform rental services. Using this contract will fulfill the District's requirement for uniform rental services and other related products, leveraging negotiated volume discounts to achieve cost savings.
Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the General Manager to utilize the competitively awarded OMNIA Partners/University of Nebraska Contract No. 001299 with Cintas Corporation No. 2. for the purchase of uniform rental services and other related products. Staff will submit an annual report to the Board detailing incurred expenditures.
The following are pertinent provisions of the agreement:
• The initial term of the agreement is from the date of the award through May 31, 2028;
• The agreement includes the option to renew for three (3) additional one-year periods and/or as extended by the lead agency, with a price increase not to exceed 10% for each year of the contract term; and
• The agreement includes the option to terminate or suspend for cause or convenience with advance written notice of intent.
In accordance with NRS 332.195.1 (c), a governing body or authorized representative may enter into a contractpursuant to a solicitation by a cooperative purchasing organization like Omnia Partners. Cintas Corporation No. 2 has authorized the District to use this contract to take advantage of the competitive pricing and volume discounts offered to public agencies. Cintas Corporation No. 2 (LBE) holds a Clark County business license.
