BACKGROUND:

Since 2005 Clark County Family Services (CCFS) has been receiving grant funding from the State of Nevada Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Services (State) for the John H. Chafee Foster Care Independent Living Program.  The Independent Living Program assist youth in goal setting and planning for their transition out of foster care and into adulthood.  For the FY25 budget, CCFS accepted a grant award from the Sate in the amount of $884,647 to continuously fund the Independent Living Program through June 30, 2025.

Ratification to Amendment #1 would allow CCFS to extend the current grant term through September 30, 2025; and reclassify four (4) Family Services Technicians (C25) positions to Family Services Specialists I/II (C28) positions to remain competitive within the labor market.

Due to the urgent need to submit the signed Subaward Amendment #1 for consideration, CCFS was not able to submit for Board Approval prior to submitting document to the state.
