BACKGROUND:
On August 6, 2019, an Engineering Services Agreement for Project No. 19101, Lincoln Lift Station Rehabilitation, was awarded to Westwood Professional Services, Inc. to provide design-bid services and engineering services during construction. During the course of the design, there were several delays caused by extensive modifications to the design scope. As a result, these design modifications delayed the completion of the engineered design and subsequent bidding and award of the construction package. Amendment No. 1 will provide additional funds and a time extension to provide the necessary engineering support through construction and project closeout.
Staff recommends that the Board approve and authorize the General Manager to sign Amendment No. 1 of the Agreement for Engineering Services with Westwood Professional Services, Inc. to continue to provide engineering services during construction for Project 19101. Westwood Professional Services, Inc., a Nevada
Business Enterprise, currently holds a Clark County business license.
Pursuant to Nevada Revised Statue 332.115(1)(b), contracts for professional services are not adapted to award by competitive bidding, and therefore, are exempt from the bidding requirements.
