BACKGROUND:

The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) has approved the Sandy Valley Road between Cherokee Street and State Route 161 project on its annual Capital Improvement Program from its Highway Improvement Acquisition Fund - Fuel Revenue Indexing for Fiscal Year 2025.

Interlocal Contract No. 3206 provides funds for construction of the subject project. This project will rehabilitate Sandy Valley Road between Cherokee Street in Sandy Valley and State Route 161 in Goodsprings. The work will include pulverization of the existing pavement section, roadway excavation for pavement widening, regrading of roadway profile, plantmix bituminous surface, concrete cut-off walls, signing, striping, and miscellaneous improvements. The design is at least 90 percent complete, all necessary right-of-way to construct the project has been obtained, and Clark County is ready to advertise the project for construction. The time of performance is effective until June 30, 2030, unless time extensions are granted.

RTC has prepared Interlocal Contract No. 3206 for the Board's consideration. RTC approved the interlocal contract at its meeting on April 10, 2025.

The District Attorney's Office has reviewed and approved the interlocal contract as to form.
