BACKGROUND: 

To ensure compliance with Nevada law and to provide clear guidance, the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD) hereby establishes the CCFD Use of Force Rule and Regulation for the Clark County Fire Investigation Division. The rule and regulation provide clear guidelines for CCFD Fire Investigations Division personnel regarding use of force emphasizing its use only when necessary.  Pursuant to Clark County Code 2.04.060, the Fire Chief is required to establish, maintain, and enforce comprehensive rules and regulations governing all operations of the department.  The rules and regulations shall be filed with the Board of County Commissioners and be effective upon approval by the Board. 

Staff recommends approval of the proposed rule and regulation.
