BACKGROUND:

On August 6, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved the submission of the Southern Nevada Clean Cities Coalition Program Plan to the U.S. Department of Energy for designation into the Clean Cities and Communities Network.

The Department of Energy Clean Cities and Communities Coalition is a partnership program to promote affordable, clean, and energy-efficient transportation solutions through work with regionally designated coalitions. As part of this partnership, coalitions are required to apply for and accept a minimum of $60,000 in funding to track coalition performance, conduct outreach, and provide transportation education to the region.

Clark County convenes the Southern Nevada Clean Cities and Communities Coalition and therefore, is requesting approval to submit an applicaton for, and acceptance of cooperative funding, if awarded.
