BACKGROUND:

At the April 16, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners ("Board") created the eight-member (8) Rural Alliance Advisory Committee (RAAC). This Committee will assist the Board in an advisory capacity with exploring County-driven issues intended to preserve the rural lifestyle of designated areas located in unincorporated Clark County.

The RAAC will hold regular, public meetings throughout the year. Membership will be comprised of seven (7) members representing each commission district, with individuals that reside within a residential neighborhood in Clark County with densities of two (2) dwelling units per acre or less, areas designated with a rural neighborhood preservation overlay, or other spaces that are rural in nature.  One (1) member will represent the Northwest Area Residents Association (NARA). Members will serve without compensation.

An open recruitment effort began Thursday, March 6, 2025 through Tuesday, April 8, 2025.  Staff received applications from Laura Bautista, Jayme Brown, Alejandro Galindo, Anne Gray, Winter Guesman, Tyson Hollis, Alex Kleytman, Sean Marshall, Katarzyna Medrala, William Penney and Kara Walker.

The applications from Jayme Brown, Anne Gray, Winter Guesman, Sean Marshall and Kara Walker are incomplete. While these applications are incomplete, they are still eligible for appointment.

The County Commission is asked to appoint three (3) qualified individuals to the RAAC for the remainder of  a two-year (2-year) term ending June 18, 2026.
