BACKGROUND:
NRS 379.020 provides that the Clark County Board of County Commissioners (County Commission) appoint five (5) competent persons who are residents of the county to serve as district library trustees.
There are two (2) seats to be filled on the Boulder City Library District Board of Trustees (Board of Trustees). Andrea Demsey is serving as a member of the Board of Trustees from June 15, 2021 until June 15, 2025. She has expressed a desire to be reappointed. Additionally, Rachel Hunt’s final term expired on May 4, 2025.
Applications were received from the following individuals: Andrea Dempsey, Sarah Ferraro, Jennifer Jefferies and Ayeshua Walden.
The Board of Trustees have recommended to reappoint Andrea Dempsey. She will serve a new term until June 15, 2029. Additionally, the Board of Trustees approved Sara Ferraro to fill the seat vacated by Rachel Hunt. She will serve until May 6, 2029.
The County Commission is asked to reappoint Andrea Dempsey for a four-year term (4-year) ending June 15, 2029, and appoint Sara Ferraro for a four-year (4-year) term ending May 6, 2029.
