BACKGROUND:

The Clark County Water Reclamation District (District) is proud to support our commuuity by responsibly sustaining the water care cycle--a mission that is vital to Southern Nevada.  Wastewater capture, collection, treatment, and reclamation play a critical role in ensuring a stable and reliable water supply for our region.

Though the wastewater reclamation process is complex, its benefits are significant.  By returning treated clean water to Lake Mead, the District helps replenish this crucial reservoir and earns invaluable return flow credits toward Southern Nevada's authorized allocation from the Colorado River water system.

Our wastewater collection system and treatment facilities represent major infrastructure investments, which protect public health, support local businesses, and safeguard our residentail communities.

This agenda item is to allow the District to provide the  Board with a periodic update on ongoing operational initiatives, inter-agency collaboration, and other key wastewater programs sthat reflect our continued focus on innovation, efficiency, and environmental stewardship to provide execptional wastewater treatment to the Southern Nevada community.

This agenda item has been reviewed and approved by the District General Counsel.
