BETterment Community Program

Additional Comments:

Amendment No. 1 will increase the Contract by an amount not to exceed $3,900,893.06, for a new total Contract amount of not to exceed $7,268,853.06.

 

BACKGROUND: 

On May 17, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the award of CBE No. 606117-22 for BETterment Community to United States Veterans Initiative (NBE) in the amount of $3,367,960 to provide bridge housing, employment and training programs for households experiencing homelessness.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
                     The term of the Contract was from February 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, and included the option to                      renew for 4, one-year periods. There are 2 renewal options remaining.
                     Included the County’s option to terminate for cause, convenience or default and suspend the Contract                      with advanced written notice.

Approval of Amendment No. 1 will increase funds for the continuation of service through June 30, 2027, and to update Section 4.0 Target Population and Admission Criteria. The attached Amendment No. 1 document details the modifications and costs involved.

These services are professional in nature and in accordance with NRS 332.155.1 (b) and County Fiscal Directive 6 are exempt from competitive bidding.

United States Veterans Initiative currently holds a Clark County Business License.
