BACKGROUND: 

The proposed 2024 Swimming Pool and Spa Code replaces the current 2018 edition.

The Southern Nevada Amendments to the 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code were developed jointly by the Southern Nevada Building Officials and the local construction industry through committee hearings and actions.

Adopting and enforcing the 2024 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code with the Southern Nevada amendments will provide for improved and safer pool and spa construction in Clark County.

The tentative effective date of the 2024 Swimming Pool and Spa Code is January 11, 2026.

Staff recommends scheduling a public hearing for July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed this agenda item and approved as to form.
