BACKGROUND:

The proposed 2024 Plumbing Code replaces the current 2018 edition.

The Southern Nevada Amendments to the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code were developed jointly by the Southern Nevada Building Officials and the local construction industry through committee hearings and actions.

Adopting and enforcing the 2024 Uniform Plumbing Code with Southern Nevada amendments will provide for improved construction methods and materials, and assist in providing installation consistency of new plumbing systems within buildings in Clark County.

The tentative effective date of the Plumbing Code is January 11,2026.

Staff recommends scheduling a public hearing for July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed this agenda item and approved as to form.
