BACKGROUND:

The proposed 2024 Energy Conservation Code replaces the current 2021 edition.

The Southern Nevada Amendments to the 2024 International Energy Conservation Code were developed jointly by the Southern Nevada Building Officials and the local construction industry through committee hearings and actions.

Adopting and enforcing the International Energy Conservation Code and the Southern Nevada amendments will improve the energy efficiency of newly constructed buildings in Clark County.

The tentative effective date of the Energy Conservation Code is January 11, 2026.

Staff recommends scheduling a public hearing for July 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m.

The District Attorney’s Office has reviewed this agenda item and approved as to form.
