BACKGROUND:

This Contract is for co-location space and redundant internet connection services with Switch, Ltd.

A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved as the Department could not obtain these services through formal solicitation. Switch, Ltd. and Flexential LLC are the only co-location providers in the Las Vegas Valley, and the County holds contracts with both. Switch hosts and safeguards County data at its offsite facility, strengthening disaster recovery capabilities across multiple sites in the event of a failure at the County’s Operations Data Center. Its redundant internet services ensure uninterrupted connectivity for critical County systems within a 24/7 data center environment.

The following are the pertinent provisions of the Contract:
The term of the Contract is from January 2, 2026 through January 1, 2029, and includes the option to                      renew for 7, one-year periods.

The recommendation of this award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1 (i) Maintenance and support for: (1) Hardware and associated peripheral equipment and devices for computers.

Switch, Ltd. currently holds a Clark County Business License.
