BACKGROUND:

Nevada PERS Policy 12.25(d) requires each employer certify the regular daily, weekly, bi-weekly full-time work schedule for their employees.  Hours reported over the full-time equivalency are not subject to a PERS contribution and will not be considered in determining an employee’s service credit or compensation.   As a cost saving measure the collective bargaining units representing the majority of County employees as well as non-union and M-Plan employees agreed to reduce the full-time work schedule to 38 hours per week or 76 hours per pay period from July 25, 2020 through July 23, 2021. Effective July 24, 2021, employee full-time work schedules will return to 40 hours per week or 80 hours per pay period.  Employees’ PERS service credit will be calculated based on the employer’s full-time certification.
