BACKGROUND: 

Clark County is in the final stages of completing construction on the mixed‑use Microbusiness Park-a key revitalization initiative within the Historic Westside. The facility combines workforce housing with retail, private offices, and a comprehensive entrepreneurial support center. The new name more accurately reflects the mission and long‑term vision for the site.

In accordance with Clark County's Facility Naming Policy, a community stakeholder group was convened to solicit proposed names and provide a recommendation.  The recommended name was presented at Long Range Planning on August 26, 2026 and recommended for formal adoption. 

The Historic Westside Innovation Commons will serve as a regional hub for entrepreneurship, small‑business growth, business education, workshops, and community economic development, supported through partnerships that include UNLV’s Office of Economic Development.
