BACKGROUND:
Under County Code 8.20.450, liquor stores are not allowed to be within 1,500 feet of a school or church, except that the Board has discretion to waive this requirement at a public hearing if the two uses are not less than five hundred feet apart.
Liquor Spot, located at 10670 Dean Martin Dr., Suite 110-115, Las Vegas, NV 89141, submitted an application for a package liquor license in conjunction with a liquor store. The proposed business is located within 1,500 feet of the Dennis Ortwein Elementary School, located at 10926 Dean Martin Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89141.
On September 10, 2026, Liquor Spot submitted a request to waive the one-thousand five-hundred-foot distance restriction to the school. The proposed business location is approximately 1,200 feet away from the school, located at 10926 Dean Martin Dr., Las Vegas, NV 89141.
