BACKGROUND:
This Competitive Bidding Exception is for the purchase of Road Rescue Fire Apparatus with Emergency Vehicle Group, Inc. (LBE).
A Fiscal Directive No. 6, Competitive Bidding Exception, was approved to allow Fire Department to purchase and replace aged Road Rescue Fire Apparatus and add additional units for the fleet. Emergency Vehicle Group, Inc. is the exclusive distributor for Road Rescue Fire Apparatus.
The following are the pertinent provisions of this approval:
• The term of the approval is from date of award through June 30, 2023, and includes the option to renew for 4, one-year periods.
• Clark County is not under exclusive contract with Emergency Vehicle Group, Inc. and therefore, can cease purchasing product at any time.
The recommendation of award is in accordance with NRS 332.115.1(a), the competitive bidding process is not required as the item to be purchased is contracted from a sole source; (c), the competitive bidding process is not required as the additions to and repairs and maintenance of equipment may be more efficiently added to, repaired or maintained by a certain person; (d), the competitive bidding process is not required as the equipment which, by reason of the training of the personnel or of an inventory of replacement parts maintained by the local government is compatible with existing equipment.
The Business License Department has determined that a Clark County Business License is not required for this effort.
