BACKGROUND:
On February 15, 2022, the Board of County Commissioners approved and authorized the acquisition by negotiation of portions of Assessor's Parcel Numbers 162-12-601-007 (Miracle Mile Partners, A Nevada General Partnership) and 162-12-601-008 (Miracle Mile MHC, LLC, A Delaware Limited Liability Company) needed for the public purposes for rights-of-way and improvements to Karen Avenue between Maryland Parkway and Flamingo Wash, which is essential for the public welfare of Clark County. All other feasible alternative methods of acquiring the property have been explored, including full good faith negotiations.
Nevada Revised Statute 241.034 and the Resolution of Clark County adopted on September 5, 2006, require the County to serve the property owners with written notice informing the property owners that the County will be considering acquiring the properties by eminent domain. Such notices were mailed in a timely manner, on August 18, 2022, prior to the submission of this item to the Board.
